Dodge Vehicles Under Investigation Due to Rollaway Risk

More than one million Dodge trucks and SUVs are under investigation.

Federal authorities are looking into complaints that the trucks start rolling away even after being put in park.

We're referring to the 2013 through 2016 Dodge Ram pickups and the Dodge Durango SUVs.

If you have one, the shifter isn't a lever that you pull from park into drive.

Instead, it's a knob that you turn.

The government says they have reports of 25 crashes from owners saying the put the trucks in park and the trucks rolled away.

Nine people were hurt in those cases.

Back in April, Fiat Chrysler recalled more than a million cars and SUVs because of this type of issue.

Now, they're looking into these trucks, as well, but no official recall has been issued just yet.

The government is suggesting you not just put your truck in park, but make sure you hit the parking brake, too.

It could keep that truck from rolling away while you and your passengers are trying to get out, and keep you safe.
