A driver for the ride-sharing service Lyft is off the job and under investigation after a woman who left her keys in his car later discovered her own car was stolen.
"It just seems that one-plus-one equals two," theft victim Ciarra Vaughn said. "He was the only one with the keys and knew where I lived."
Vaughn took Lyft to Deep Ellum in Dallas late Saturday and got a message from Lyft that same night, telling her the driver had found her keys – but she never got them back.
Surveillance video from Vaughn's apartment building in downtown Dallas shows that just more than a day after leaving her keys in the Lyft vehicle, Vaughn's car was taken from her building's garage.
Vaughn says it's not the Lyft driver shown in the video, but another man who calmly gets in the car and drives away.
"I feel like the Lyft driver gave my information and my keys to someone," she said.
Not long after her car was stolen shortly after 2 a.m. Monday, Dallas police found the vehicle wrecked in South Dallas at about 3:30 a.m. that same morning.

"I feel like my privacy has been violated," Vaughn said. "I mean, I don't feel safe here, because someone knows where I live and came to steal my car. I mean, who knows what's next?"
In a statement, a Lyft spokesperson said they are taking this reporting "incredibly seriously."
"We have been in touch with the passenger and stand ready to assist law enforcement in their investigation," the statement said. "The driver in question has been deactivated from the Lyft platform pending further investigation."
Lyft said the driver "cannot access the Lyft app nor give any Lyft rides."
Dallas police are investigating.
