Dallas officers responded to a robbery call involving three men armed with shotguns in the 2700 block of Avon Street at 10:47 p.m. Thursday. The culprits drove away in a white Ford Expedition before officers arrived.

At 11:38 p.m., officers responded to another call about three prowlers looking over patios in the 2600 block of Creative Place. Police said plain-clothed officers in the area saw a white Ford Expedition leave the apartments and travel toward Fort Worth Avenue.

At about midnight, police said officers in a squad car began chasing the Expedition after the driver failed to pull over.

The chase ended shortly after when the Expedition stopped in the 2600 block of West Colorado Boulevard. Two 16-year-old males, that police said matched the descriptions of those suspected in the initial home invasion, exited the vehicle and ran awy.

Dallas Police Department Major Jeff Cotner answers questions about the investigation surrounding an incident that led to an officer opening fire on two teens in an overnight chase.

Police said at least one officer fired shots at the two teens during the chase, but no one was hit.

"Both suspects were transported to the hospital and it was unrelated to the discharge," Dallas Police Department spokesman Major Jeff Cotner said. "They're being charged with evading arrest."

A 14-year-old girl that was also in the vehicle was taken to a hospital for treatment. She has not been charged.

Police said they are investigating why the officer drew and fired his weapon, as it was later determined that the teens were unarmed.
