A grenade found in a south Dallas garage Friday afternoon was intentionally detonated as a precaution, police say.[[421636803,C]]
Officers said a homeowner found the grenade while cleaning out a garage at a home in the 900 block of Local Vista Drive.
The Dallas Police Department called in their Explosive Ordnance Unit who determined the grenade was live. The team then destroyed it on site using EOU equipment.
No injuries were reported.
Police did not release where the grenade originated from or why it was in the garage.
