Couple Robbed at Gunpoint in Fort Worth Home, Child Threatened

Police said several armed people broke into a Fort Worth home, threatened to kill the homeowners' child and robbed them early Sunday morning.

Fort Worth police are asking for the public’s help to find suspects responsible for a home invasion robbery in the 4000 block of Grover Avenue -- in the Diamond Hill neighborhood east of Meacham Airport near Interstate 35W.

“We were scared. We don’t know who these people are,” explained the couple who lives in the home. They did not want to give their names. “We even feel like criminals. We have to run from our house, go somewhere they can’t find us.”

The couple said it was just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday when the armed and masked men broke into their home, pistol whipped the husband, shot a hole through their bathroom door, and threatened to kill the couple’s 4-year old son.

“They were like, ‘Where’s the money? Where’s the money? Where’s the bag,” explained the husband. He said there was no money, but handed over his wallet and the little bit of money they’d saved to buy their son’s Christmas presents.

“I’m like, we have no money,” explained the wife. “I’m begging you, I’m begging you, please!”

The suspects were captured on a neighbor’s surveillance video system.

“You know, too close to home,” said neighbor Pete Guerra with a heavy sigh. “You just don’t want to see this. Not in your neighborhood or anybody’s neighborhood.”

The couple said they haven’t been able to stay at the home and don’t know if they will ever return.

“You hear it in the news all the time, but never think it will happen,” said the wife. “But it ended up happening to us.”

Police are looking for 4 suspects. The suspect vehicle is described as a white or light-colored Dodge Charger, or a similar 4-door vehicle.
