Woman in Jail for Allegedly Kidnapping Stephenville Infant

The woman police believe is responsible for kidnapping a 2-month-old baby from Stephenville remains in the Erath County Jail Tuesday.

NBC 5 has obtained the 911 call of the infant's mother after her child was taken from her outside their home by a stranger Friday morning.

"I pulled into my driveway and somebody came up to me and said to give them $5,000 or I'm going to take your baby," Ashley Christensen said to a Stephenville 911 operator. "I don't have $5,000. But I don't know who this is."

Stephenville police said Latonya McLain is responsible for kidnapping 2-month-old Addalie Christensen.

Police said it happened as Addalie's mother was getting out of her car at their home on the 1200 block of North Kight Street.

The mother told the 911 operator that a heavy set woman approached her and took her child.

A search for several hours lasted throughout the day until police got information through social media that the suspect was at her parents' home, just outside of Dublin about 20 minutes away.

Mclain was found later that day with the baby, who was unharmed.

Police said McLain's parents were home when they arrived and arrested her, but her parents are not facing any charges at this time.

McLain is being held on a $50,000 bond for aggravated kidnapping.
