Woman Arrested After Downtown Dallas Club Shooting

Dallas police tell NBC 5 they arrested a woman for shooting a man outside of a Downtown Dallas bar Friday morning.

Officers said a group of men apparently exchanged words over a woman inside of Medusa nightclub on 1930 Pacific Avenue. The fight spilled into the parking lot across the street after closing time.

Officers working off-duty security heard the gunfire around 2:30 a.m. Friday and rushed across the street.

Police said they discovered 23-year-old William Cantarero face down in the parking lot, screaming in pain with a bullet wound to his lower back.

Police said Raquel Padilla, the girlfriend of one of the men, was involved in the fight, grabbed a gun, and shot Cantarero in the back.

Investigators said Padilla confessed to pulling the trigger, saying "I shot him" to police investigators. Several club-goers identified Padilla as the shooter.

Padilla was taken to jail and has been charged with a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Cantarero is expected to survive.
