One Dead, One Injured in Party Bus Shooting: DPD

One person is dead after a shooting involving a party bus early Monday morning, according to a Dallas police dispatch supervisor.

Dallas police said they received a call at about 4:30 a.m. reporting a party bus had taken gunfire and that someone was shot.

The driver of the bus headed toward the hospital and ended up at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Two people on the bus were wounded and taken into the emergency room for treatment, according to police.

One person was later reported to have died.

The second victim was transferred to Parkland Memorial Hospital with a single gunshot wound. Police said he is expected to be fine and will likely be released in a few hours.

When the bus arrived at the ER police said there was a disturbance and police had to use pepper spray. NBC 5 crews saw one man being handcuffed and placed in the back of a police cruiser.

Police later confirmed one man was arrested at the hospital for public intoxication.

Police said they need help from the public identifying any potential witnesses or suspects. They said they believe the shooting happened in the area of 1818 Story Lane. Anyone with information is asked to call police;

Police said the original incident may have started at or near the Exposure Club in northwest Dallas.
