Skeletal Remains Found Near Theater Identified as Man Missing From Crash

Man reported missing after car crash early last summer

The Dallas County medical examiner has identified skeletal remains found late last month in a wooded area behind a Dallas movie theater.

The medical examiner said the remains belong to 32-year-old Alejandro Arzola, a man who was reported missing following a car crash along Loop 12 last summer.

Arzola's cause of death has yet to be determined.

Arzola's sister, Yadria Arzola, said in June her younger brother called his girlfriend to tell her what happened, but by the time police arrived, Arzola's car was abandoned and he was missing.

"When police got there, he wasn't there. When the ambulance got there, he wasn't there," said Arzola.

Not only that, but she said items were missing from her brother's truck.

"All his belongings, the speaker, a car seat," she said. "I've checked everywhere, everywhere, and I can't find him. I've looked in jails, hospitals, the morgue. I haven't been able to find him."

She said her brother has never gone missing before and would never leave his young children.

After Arzola's remains were found, police said it's possible recent rain could have washed the man's body down a nearby creek into the area where they were found.

Arzola's death remains under investigation.

NBC 5's Amanda Guerra and Holley Ford contributed to this report.
