Red River at Gainesville Crests Friday Afternoon

Drivers traveling along Interstate 35 through Gainesville may have a slow go of it due to intense flooding in the area.

The U.S. National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma said they are working closely with the Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Transportation monitoring the rising Red River.

The Red River crested at 42.05 feet near Gainesville on Friday afternoon, according to the weather service.
