Popular Bike Share Program May Be Headed to Denton

The Denton City Council is looking into adding a popular bike share program to the city.

It would be very similar to the one already in Fort Worth, where people can rent a bike and return it at any share station throughout the city.

Denton citizens said the cycling community is growing and there's high interest for the program.

"I think there is a demand for it; I think you'd see people on the bikes," said bike shop owner, Joe Holland.

The city is evaluating the locations for nine stations, including near the University of North Texas, downtown and the A-train and they are researching funding options.
