Plano Man Seeks Motorcycle Thief

Plano Police are looking for an accused motorcycle thief.

Prajwal Ramamurthy filed a report after becoming a victim more than a week ago.

"I handed him my helmet, I handed him my keys, and just said – take my bike," said Ramamurthy. "I did feel pretty stupid."

Ramamurthy met up with a user who identified himself as "Johnny" on an used to buy and sell goods.

Ramamurthy was trying to sell a 2008 Red Honda CBR 1000, which he values at more than $7000.

The other man met him in the Walmart parking lot near Spring Creek Parkway and U.S. 75.

He was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle, which he left with Ramamurthy as collateral while taking the Honda for a test drive.

After about 10 minutes, Ramamurthy says he realized the other man wasn't coming back.

"Really, I was speechless for a second, like really, did I just get fooled?"

"That's a lesson learned for a life time," he said.

After Plano Police began investigating, they confirmed the other bike, the collateral, had also been reported stolen.

Since then, Ramamurthy has posted his bike's photos to Facebook pages like DFW Motorcycles and Parts in hopes of getting a lead. So far, other bikers have spotted his custom red motorcycle in Grand Prairie and Mesquite, but the thief remains at large.
