Irving police said they responded to a burglary call at Albert Farine Elementary School in the 600 block of Metker Street just after 1:30 a.m. and found the juvenile climbing out of a window.

A responding officer fired one shot, but did not strike the teen. Police said they think the officer fired accidentally.

Police said the teen is in custody.

Officers searched the school and didn't find anyone else inside. Nothing was taken from the school, according to police.
