North Texas Honors 9/11 Victims

Several North Texas organizations are holding ceremonies to honor and remember the victims of 9/11, including:

Burleson

H-E-B will hold its 10th annual Helping Heroes, 7:30 a.m., Burleson Fire Station No. 1, 828 S.W. Alsbury Blvd.

Coppell

The City of Coppell will host its Patriot Day ceremony featuring city civil servants, 7:30 p.m., Town Center Plaza located behind City Hall, 255 E. Parkway Blvd.

Dallas

Entrepreneurs For North Texas will revitalize the Dallas campus of VA North Texas Health Care System and Veterans' Housing at their 13th annual Freedom Day, 9 a.m., Victory Park, 2500 Victory Ave. Events at several other locations will follow.

The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum remembers 9/11 through artifacts and social media, 9:45 a.m., The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, 2943 SMU Blvd.

Transportation Security Administration Steel Monument display to remember and honor the events of 9/11, 8:30 a.m., Dallas Love Field, 8008 Cedar Springs Road.

Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Independent School District will host a wreath-laying ceremony, 8 a.m., Central Administration Building, 100 N. University Drive. Then they will hold a ceremony attended by the interim superintendent, 9:30 a.m., McLean Middle School, 3816 Stadium Drive. District schools will observe between 8 and 10 a.m. near each school's flagpole.

Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Harmony Hills Neighborhood Association and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference Salute of Honor 9/11 Flagpole dedication ceremony, 6 p.m., Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 7510 John T. White Road.

The Tarrant County College Police and Fire Academies will host their fourth annual 9/11 5K and 9.11-mile Memorial Run, 6:30 a.m., Tarrant County College's Northwest Campus Fire Service Training Center Tower Building, 4801 Marine Creek Parkway.

Grapevine

The 9/11 Memorial Foundation Texas, founded by Joe Lucioni, will partner with the Grapevine Fire Department to honor and remember the victims of 9/11, 7:30 a.m., 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial public art location, 1000 Texan Trail.

Mesquite

The City of Mesquite will host a 9/11 ceremony with the display of a 13-foot beam salvaged from the World Trade Center, 8:30 a.m., Fire Station No. 1, 410 S. Galloway Ave.

Prosper

A solemn ceremony to remember 9/11, Prosper Fire Station, 1500 E. First St.
