Girl's Medical Fight Inspires ‘Just for J' 5K

Monday's Tell Me Something Good segment celebrated the inspiration of a little girl named Jacqueline.

Jacqueline has a neurological condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Five years ago, Jacqueline was the recipient of funds raised at a 5K in her honor.

"She lives with CMT and funds were raised to help her with her bucket list and medical needs. This was the beginning of Just for J," said Traci Day.

Day said Just for J is now a full-fledged nonprofit that raises money for other families with children facing medical needs.

This past weekend, the Just for J 5K in Grapevine raised more than $21,000 to help to benefit three children named Mallie Rae, Sadie and Gage.

Day said "Jacqueline has inspired a community for years and her love has spread beyond anything imagined."
