Farmers Branch Police are investigating what they are calling a road rage incident.
It happened in the northbound frontage road lanes of Interstate 35E early Sunday morning.
It’s not clear what led up to the incident, but police say the driver of a sedan fired at least one gunshot at the victim’s vehicle.
That shot hit the driver in the back. He was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas in serious condition, but he was able to speak with officers.

Three other people were in the victim’s vehicle, but they were not injured.
Police say the accused shooter's car was possibly a Nissan or Lexus.
There have been other road rage shooting incidents on North Texas roads in recent months.
In November, a Fort Worth man was shot in the arm while driving along Highway 121. In September, a man was shot in a Lewisville neighborhood, also in a road rage incident.
