Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick arrived at Dallas Love Field on a chartered jet Tuesday night.
Kilpatrick, 38, is in North Texas to interview for what his lawyers described as a high-paying position, but it wasn't immediately known where.
On Tuesday, the Potter's House denied that it offered Kilpatrick a job.
Kilpatrick attorney Jim Thomas said in court last week that his client should know by Thursday if he'll have a job, WDIV-TV in Detroit reported.
Kilpatrick became a free man after serving 99 days in jail and left the downtown Detroit facility shortly after midnight.
Kilpatrick's wife and children are living in Southlake, where many people had never heard of the former mayor. Neighbors said his wife said her husband wasn't around because he travels often.
Kilpatrick must return to Detroit by Feb. 9. He would need court approval to transfer his probation jurisdiction outside Michigan.

He is on five years' probation.
He pleaded guilty last year to two felony counts of obstructing justice by perjuring himself for denying under oath a sexual affair with his former chief of staff, Christine Beatty. He also pleaded no contest to a felony charge in the assault of a sheriff's deputy.
During his guilty plea, Kilpatrick admitted he lied under oath in a police whistle-blower lawsuit after two officers were fired. The Detroit Free Press published last year excerpts of text messages between Kilpatrick and the Beatty that contradicted their testimony that they did not have a sexual relationship.
