Deadline to Share Texas Drought Photos Extended

People wanting to share photos of the lingering Texas drought have more time to post their original pictures online.

The Texas Water Development Board on Friday announced the original Sept. 30 deadline to offer photos has been extended to Oct. 31.

A coalition of state agencies on Aug. 5 launched an interactive public awareness campaign on how the drought, going back to 2010, has impacted lives.

The water board, the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are sponsoring the effort using various social media platforms. The agencies later this month will display some of the drought photos at the Texas Capitol.
