Thousands Volunteer at Cowtown Great American Cleanup

More than 7,500 volunteers will come together in Fort Worth Saturday for the largest litter cleanup of the year.

For the 31st year, people will join in effort to clean up trash and litter from empty lots, river banks and parks across the area as part of the Cowtown Great American Cleanup.

Cleanup runs from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the following locations:

• Tandy Hills Prairie, 3600 View St.
• Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods, 818 Missouri Ave.
• Polytechnic High School, 1300 Conner Ave.
• Riverside Kennel Area, 1801 Bomar Ave.
• Lake Arlington, Eugene McCray Park, 3449 Quail Road
• Bradley Center - Glencrest Civic League, 2601 Timberline Drive
• Marion Sansom Park, 2501 Roberts Cut-Off Road
• Highland Hills Community Center, 1600 Glasgow Road
• Lake Worth Sailing Club, 8900 Sunrise Point Court
• Marine Creek, 5403 Paloma Blanca

Last year, volunteers collected nearly 55 tons of garbage near 266 miles of roadway and 102 miles of waterways.
