Bush Gets Gate on Neighborhood

Construction is under way on a gate along the entrance to streets leading to former President George W. Bush's Preston Hollow home.

Now public access to Daria Place -- the high-end street where the Bushes' 8,500-square-foot ranch home sits -- will be a thing of the past.  Residents have said that it wasn't uncommon for cars loaded with onlookers to pull up and take pictures of the house.

Bush requested to have the gate installed and gained the support of neighborhood residents and city leaders. There was no word on how much the gate will cost, but Bush will be picking up the tab, the Dallas Morning News reported.  Homeowners in Preston Hollow will pay a monthly maintenance fee.

The gate is expected to be completed in 45 days.
