Arlington Police Search for Flasher Who Groped 2 Girls

Arlington police are looking for a man who flashed and groped several girls on their way to school Friday morning.

Police said the man exposed himself to girls at three locations in North Arlington within an hour.

Detectives said the man exposed himself to a 15-year-old girl in the 900 block of Linda Vista Avenue at 7:30 a.m. and groped her before running away. The girl reported the incident to school officials.

A half hour later, the man exposed himself to two girls younger than 12 in the 2300 block of Burney Road and groped one of them.

The last incident happened in the 600 block of East Lamar Boulevard, where the man flashed two girls while standing behind a fence at 8:30 a.m.

Investigators say the man did not try to abduct the girls, but the groping is disturbing.

"It worries us, because he's actively physically touching girls in addition to trying to expose himself," police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard said. "He's reaching for them. He's grabbing them. It's a daunting experience for anyone. But for a child, it's even more traumatic."

The Arlington Independent School District sent a letter home to parents about the incidents, and APD plans to increase patrols in the area.
