Arlington ISD Wants Dads More Involved

The Arlington Independent School District wants dads to get more involved in the education of their children.

The district is planning an event on April 24 called "Papa-palooza" to encourage fathers to join school-related organizations.

The event is designed to encourage a unique range of men with varied interests to get more involved in the lives of their children.

About 20 of the city's 52 elementary schools have groups for fathers. The event will have information booths about those groups as well as games for children.

Papa-palooza will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Swift Elementary at 1101 S. Fielder Road.
