11 Indicted in N. Texas Gun Smuggling Case

Defendants facing charges of conspiracy to acquire firearms

Investigators say 11 people from the Dallas area have been indicted in a federal firearms smuggling investigation.

Prosecutors in North Texas late Wednesday announced the June 13 indictment involving gun purchases for other people.

The defendants went before a magistrate in Plano this week on charges of conspiracy to acquire firearms.

Several suspects are also accused of structuring payments for the firearms by purchasing money orders at various post offices. Two suspects are charged with conspiring to smuggle firearms from the U.S. to Mexico.

Further details on the investigation were not immediately released.
