Mary Kay's annual convention rolls into town this week and the company says more women than ever are joining their sales force.
The company said they've seen a 10 percent surge in their sales force compared to this time last year and they believe it's due to the economy.
Mary Kay said women like Jamie Titus are leaving corporate jobs when they realize it's a dead end.
"The work hours were ever increasing. Layoffs were looming. We'd already had a couple rounds of layoffs. The pay was decreasing and something had to give," said Titus.
Titus is a new independent consultant who started her business in April and quit her corporate job in June.
