Ellis, who was cut by the Cowboys June 2, will sign on with the Oakland Raiders, according to fanhouse.com.
Look for Ellis to move back onto the defensive line, his bread and butter position for years before the Cowboys moved him to linebacker. The Star-Telegram says Ellis decided to sign on with the silver and black after visiting Oakland Friday.
Ellis played 11 seasons with the Cowboys. He finished with 77 career sacks and led the team in sacks six times, which is second to Harvey Martin's club record seven. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2007.
