Victim, Suspect Exchange Fire in Old East Dallas, Police Say

One person exchanged fire with a suspect who pulled out a gun and demanded money Wednesday night in Old East Dallas, police said. Officers responded to the 4400 block of Gaston Avenue, between Peak Street and Carroll Avenue, after 7 p.m. The victim told police that when he saw the suspect's handgun, he reached for his own and began firing at the suspect.
