Speeder Had Baby, 4 Other Kids in Buick When She Fled Traffic Stop, Wichita Falls Police Say

A North Texas woman was jailed last week after police say she fled a traffic stop with five children unsecured in her car.Zayryimonnia Hardeman was arrested Friday morning on a charge of evading police and five counts of endangering a child.An officer was working traffic patrol on Holliday Road around 8 a.m. that day when he tried to pull over a tan Buick for going 46 mph in a 30 mph zone, Wichita Falls police Sgt. Harold McClure said.Hardeman fled the traffic stop, swerving around multiple vehicles, driving on the shoulder and blowing through a stop sign in an "apparent attempt to evade police," McClure said. She came to a stop in the 1400 block of Midwestern Parkway, McClure said.Inside the car, officers found five childre, ages 2 months to 9 years, none of whom was properly buckled into a child seat or seat belt. Police didn't say how Hardeman is related to the children.Hardeman was uncooperative with officers and was taken to the Wichita County jail in lieu of a $30,000 bail.The children were released to family at the scene, and Child Protective Services was notified.  Continue reading...
