Dallas police detonated a World War II-era grenade that was found in the backyard of a southeast Dallas home last week.Residents in the 900 block of Local Vista Drive found the live grenade in a shed in their backyard, Dallas police Maj. Max Geron tweeted on Friday.The Dallas Police Department's explosive ordinance unit detonated the grenade, which Geron said would be a noisy process that wouldn't pose a threat to residents.He identified the grenade as a M7, a type that was widely used in World War II and the Korean War.It's unclear how the grenade ended up in southeast Dallas.
