Parents, Give Your Kids a Leg Up by Enrolling Them in pre-K

It's the first week of April, so that means area school districts are in a full-court press to get their youngest learners enrolled in pre-K classrooms for next year.Educators know that mounds of research continue to show that 3- and 4-year-olds who attend quality programs have a better shot at closing achievement gaps, staying in school and boosting the economy.It's critical that formal learning starts before the age of 5, when 90 percent of a child's brain is already developed.The stakes are too high not to get every available kid in a classroom as soon as possible.  Continue reading...
