North Texas Teen Brandished Sword at Dad, Threw Chair at Toddler and Kicked Deputy, Authorities Say

A North Texas teen threatened a his father with a sword, threw a chair that hit a toddler and then kicked a deputy who was trying to detain him, authorities say.Noah Wayne Scott, 17, of Granbury was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a peace officer, injury to a child and resisting arrest.Hood County deputies were called to Scott's home in the 3800 block of Pecan Valley Court, along the Brazos River, around 9 a.m. Tuesday after a disturbance was reported.Scott had threatened his father, who is 61, with a sword during an argument and also thrown a chair, which struck the leg of a 2-year-old child, the sheriff's office said.The teenager also kicked a deputy's knee while he was being arrested, authorities said.No one was seriously injured during the incident, the sheriff's office said.Scott remained in the Hood County jail Thursday, with bail set at $37,500.  Continue reading...
