NBC 5 Forecast: Hotter Weather Building This Week

Today will be a day of transition as temperatures begin to inch back upward. Less cloud coverage and more sunshine today will be the prime contributor to more warmth. Tuesday the wind will switch to the southwest and hotter weather will arrive. In fact, it's likely to be our first 100 degree day of the year. Tuesday through the weekend highs will be in the upper 90s to right around 100°. Even if the mercury doesn't reach triple-digit territory, the heat index will likely meet or exceed that mark. Make sure you're taking breaks, getting in some shade, and staying well hydrated.Latest Forecast TODAY: Decreasing clouds and quite warm. High: 93. Wind: NW 5-10 mph. TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Low: 77.
