Man Turned Himself in for Stabbing Ex-girlfriend to Death in East Oak Cliff Apartment, Police Say

A 57-year-old man turned himself in to authorities Thursday and was charged with capital murder in his ex-girlfriend's stabbing.Officers responding to an apartment in the 3500 block of Overton Road, across the street from Robert Oren Park in east Oak Cliff, found 43-year-old Kristen Cary had been fatally stabbed around 6:30 a.m.Homicide detectives identified her former boyfriend, Edward Gaines, as a suspect in her slaying. Officials at the Dallas County jail then informed them that Gaines was trying to turn himself in.Dallas police questioned Gaines and charged him with capital murder.  Continue reading...
