Man Accidentally Shoots Himself While Trying to Buy a Gun at Apartment Complex, Fort Worth Police Say

A man shot himself with a gun he was trying to purchase at a Fort Worth apartment complex Wednesday, police said. Police responded about 7:40 p.m. to a call at Ravenwood Apartments at Meadowbrook and Meadowbrook Gardens drives, where the injured man had been approached by another man who offered to sell him the firearm, Officer Brad Perez said. As the prospective buyer inspected the gun, he shot himself, Perez said. The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were serious but not thought to be life-threatening.Police did not say whether any charges have been filed.
