Irving-based Cancer Research Firm Caris Life Sciences to Add 500 Jobs, Develop New Corporate Park

Caris Life Sciences is developing a new state-of-the-art corporate park in Irving adding more than 500 DFW jobs in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to a release Tuesday.The new 115,000 square foot facility will include new research and development space as well as offices for the company as it expands its blood-based diagnostics and molecular profiling capabilities."Our new facilities in Irving, Texas will allow us to add to our team of experts, and enhance our ability to deliver more insights to physicians and drug developers that will improve and save lives," Caris Life Sciences Chairman and CEO David D. Halbert said in a statement.The precision medicine company's employee-base has more than doubled in just over a year, according to Caris. The more than 500 new employees will join the nearly 700 already working at Caris Life Sciences. Additional jobs at Caris will include pathologists, research scientists, medical oncologists, biostatisticians and geneticists s well as medical and scientific affairs personnel.Construction of the facility is already underway and will be built in three phases, according to Caris Life Sciences. The first phase is expected to be completed in 2020.Irving-based Caris Life Sciences develops methods of profiling specific molecules to help physicians and cancer patients more directly treat cancer.
