House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Calls Houston Rep. Dan Crenshaw a ‘rising Star'

WASHINGTON -- House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., made it clear to an audience of hundreds what he thinks of new Houston Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw.“I don’t call him a freshman ... he is a rising star,” McCarthy said as he introduced his colleague Wednesday on the opening day of the American Conservative Union's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), an annual four-day conference for conservatives from around the country. Crenshaw has been one of the highest-profile GOP freshman in a year that saw Republicans go from House majority to minority.
