An $8 Tax Hike? Some Dallas Council Members Already Say No

Dallas City Manager T.C. Broadnax has a challenge ahead of him. City council members will have to approve a budget for the next fiscal year, and Broadnax's recommendations unveiled last week included a tax hike for the first time in years. But many council members have already voted against it. Six of the 14 council members on Tuesday voted to cap property taxes next fiscal year at the current rate, 77.67 cents per $100 valuation, against Broadnax's recommended 78 cents.   Continue reading...
