SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS MAN STEALING HIS CAT BACK FROM SHELTER
Police said a man walked into a Dallas animal shelter and stole his lost cat. Shelter employees said the man refused to a pay a $132 fee to reclaim the cat. Surveillance video shows the man leaving the shelter with a baseball bat and the animal in a pet carrier. (NBC DFW)

POLICE ARREST TEACHER ACCUSED OF INDECENCY WITH CHILD
Grand Prairie police are investigating alleged indecent acts involving a 30-year-old teacher and a 12-year-old victim.  Police said Robin Smith, of Grand Prairie, was arrested Monday afternoon, and the Grand Prairie Independent School District has placed him on administrative leave. (NBC DFW)

THREE CARS HIT MAN CLOSING DOWN ALL I-30 LANES IN EAST FORT WORTH
The westbound lanes of Interstate 30 have been reopened after a man was hit by at least 3 vehicles early Tuesday, shutting down all lanes of Interstate 30 between Loop 820 and Cooks Lane in east Fort Worth. (NBC DFW)

ARSONIST TORCHES CARS IN APARTMENT PARKING LOT
Dallas Fire-Rescue were called to put out a car fire at The Forest Park Villas in the 3400 block of Forest Lane. Firefighters noticed two cars had been burned and a third had a busted window and called for police. Dallas police say it appears the cars were burglarized and then torched to cover up the evidence.

CARROLLTON POLICE INVESTIGATE DEADLY SHOOTING
Carrollton Police are investigating an early morning shooting that has left one person dead and a second person critically injured in the 3900 block of Luke Lane. (NBC DFW)

POLICE ARREST MAN AFTER DISTURBANCE AT HOUSE
Denton police arrested a man Sunday after he allegedly tried to take an officer’s weapon and interfere with an emergency call, according to a report. (Denton Record Chronicle)

FORT WORTH POLICE WANT TO KNOW IF TWO ROBBERIES ARE RELATED
Police are investigating whether two robberies that occurred Monday in the same area of downtown Fort Worth are related.  The first robbery occurred at 11:35 a.m. at the City Streets club in the 400 block of Commerce. About an hour later a man walked into the Ferre Restaurant in the 200 block of East Fourth Street and attempted to force an employee to open the safe at the restaurant. (Star-Telegram)

83-YEAR-OLD MAN DIED, HIT BY DRIVER LOOKING FOR HIS CELL PHONE
An 83-year-old Eastern Hills man was killed Sunday evening when he was hit by a pickup whose driver looked down to find his cell phone, police reported. The man's wife expressed sympathy for the driver. (Star-Telegram)

PLANO MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MISSPENDING HIS ELDERLY MOTHER'S MONEY
A Plano man admitted Monday that he improperly spent money entrusted to him by his 74-year-old mother. But he disputed the state’s allegation that he improperly spent more than $87,000 of his mother’s money over four months in 2004. Next month, a judge will determine how much was spent.
