Interstate 30 was reopened after a man was hit by at least two vehicles early Tuesday, shutting down all lanes of Interstate 30 between Loop 820 and Cooks Lane in east Fort Worth.

A motorist called police before 6 a.m. to report that the victim was in the center median.

The man was attempting to cross the freeway in the westbound traffic lanes when a vehicle struck him and left the scene.

The man landed in the eastbound lanes and was struck by another vehicle near Sandy Lane. The driver and the passenger of that vehicle went to John Peter Smith Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The man has been tentatively identified.

Eastbound I-30 traffic was backed up for nearly 2 miles by 6:15 a.m. Westbound traffic was diverted to Cooks Lane.
