Dwayne Harris Set For Competition

Harris will likely battle third round pick Terrance Williams for the No. 3 receiver spot

Prior to last month’s draft, third-year man Dwayne Harris seemed the odds on favorite to step into the No. 3 receiver role.

Kevin Ogletree departed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March, after all, and Harris is coming off a year in which he put up 17 catches for 222 yards and a touchdown receiving--not gaudy numbers, but fairly impressive when you consider most of this came down the stretch--while also emerging as one of the better punt returners in the league.

Then, the Cowboys selected Baylor receiver Terrance Williams in the third round. And while there’s no doubt that Williams will provide some serious competition for the No. 3 role, this won’t change the way Harris goes about his business.

“When you see a receiver get drafted, you just have to go out there and do your job,” Harris said this week, per the Dallas Morning News. “Everybody has to work for what they want, so I guess that’s what it is.”
