BRIT's Prairie Day 2015

Celebrate the beauty of the native landscape of North Texas with NBC 5 and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) at BRIT’s Prairie Day on Saturday, May 16, in Fort Worth! Join us for this free family-friendly, annual festival of arts and crafts that includes flight demonstrations of majestic wild birds and live music from Prophets and Outlaws.

Families will learn about hardy Texas native plants that grow on the prairie and how to harvest the seeds of those plants to enjoy next season. Children will learn how to make seed balls with the perennials from BRIT’s gardens, and everyone will learn about the cultural and natural history that defines our region through activities and games for the whole family.

BRIT hopes to educate the public on the importance of our natural resources, the region's native ecosystems, and how restoring native plants can benefit homeowners as well as wildlife. For more information, visit www.brit.org.
