Sporty food and a sprawling patio are the heavy hitters making Denton’s Pourhouse Bar and Grill a popular place.
“We’re geared towards being relaxed and having a really nice time,” explains owner Rickie Moore.
When he opened the restaurant, Moore made sure to incorporate the majestic view out back of Unicorn Lake.
“This just seemed to be the perfect setting to have a large outdoor venue where people could enjoy themselves and enjoy the private lake and the trail around it.” Moore explains.
“It’s a really nice place to come after work and have a cocktail or two with good friends and good food,” says diner Brandon Muehlhausen.
Every Thursday night the Pourhouse is home to live music. When it’s warm, it moves to the sprawling porch. “It’s kind of secluded, so it definitely makes for a nice environment to sit outside and listen to some good music," says Muehlhausen.
“It’s very nice on the patio. I like to see the lake. It’s very peaceful,” adds Cindy Aughinbaugh.
Aughinbaugh and other diners say the food is equally enjoyable. “We ordered the trashcan nachos which is one of my favorite thing to order here… and it’s got just about anything you would want in it.”
Other favorites include the Chicken Fried Steak with vegetables plus homemade onion rings and the Pizza Margherita. “A lot of their appetizers are really good. Their portion sizes are fantastic” says Muehlhausen.
If the patio isn’t for you there are two other places you can enjoy your food; inside the bar and grill area or even have food served to you in the media room.
“I think one of the best parts about this place is the different dining experiences you can get as far as patio, bar, table and booth and the room over here with the theater style seating” says diner Colin Shaw
There’s no shortage of TVs either, especially in the media room. “We have a 12-foot high definition projector in there and we show the games” explains Moore.
No matter where you choose, diners say it’ll be the best seat in the house.
“It’s a casual fun atmosphere where we can laugh and be loud with our friends and have a good time” says Aughinbaugh.
