11-11-11 is Also Nigel Tufnel Day

This day celebrated only once per century

This year Nov. 11 isn't just Veterans Day.

Fans of 80s cult mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap are turning it up one more notch for 11-11-11.

The once-in-a-lifetime celebration is being pushed heavily by Southlake smartphone app developer OneLouder.

Why One Louder? Because 11 is one louder than 10.

OneLouder company president Evan Conway said employees at the company's offices in Southlake, Kansas City and Silicon Valley would be dressing up in their best heavy metal outfits to commemorate Nigel Tufnel Day.  Employees would also be tossing out one-liners from the flick on their Twitter account (@onelouderapps) and giving away copies of the movie to followers.

If you don't get the Nigel Tufnel reference, watch this.

Conway told the Huffington Post that the reason he thought the movie struck such a chord with viewers is that it's because so few people have actually seen it.

"It's still a bit of an inside joke," he told HuffPo. "People in Silicon Valley thought it was a cool name, but didn't get the reference."

If you missed celebrating it at 11:11 a.m., there is always tonight -- provided you don't subscribed to military time.

So, this evening, even if it's well past your bed time, take that extra push over the cliff and stay up late to celebrate OneLouderDay at 11:11 p.m.

It's the only time in your life that you'll be able to do it ... unless you're somehow alive for Nigel Tufnel Day on Nov. 11, 2111.
