Dem. White Raised $7.4M From Late Feb to Early June

Democrat Bill White says he raised more than $7.4 million from late February through June, edging out his opponent Republican Gov. Rick Perry.

White's campaign released its fundraising totals Thursday, the day state campaign finance reports were due. The campaign said a detailed report showing individual donors was not yet available. Perry's campaign had not yet released its money report.

White reported having more than $9 million in campaign cash on hand as of the end of June. His campaign finance chair, Scott Atlas, says more than 11,000 of the approximately 16,000 contributors to White in the period were first-time donors.

White is a former Houston mayor. Perry is seeking a third full term as governor.
