Police confirm to NBC DFW that two men died after being pulled from a pond behind a Carrollton restaurant late Saturday night.

The victims were identified as 30-year-old's Francisco Najar and Hector Rodrigues of Dallas.

Carrollton Police Department Public Information Officer Jon Stovall told NBCDFW that officers were called to the pond behind the La Hacienda Ranch restaurant near I-35E and West Frankford Road Saturday around 8:30 p.m.

Stovall said the men were fishing when one man went into the water. The other person tried helping the first victim and they both ended up going under water.

Najar and Rodrigues were transported to two local hospitals where they were pronounced dead.
