Two Burleson Officers Shot Chasing Bank Robbery Suspect

Two Burleson police officers are recovering Friday after being shot while pursuing a bank robbery suspect.

The officers were both transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Detective David Feucht, a 23 year veteran of the Burleson Police Department, was shot multiple times. Feucht underwent surgery and is expected to be OK. Detective Nick Grace, a 19 year veteran of the department was shot in the leg and was treated and released from the hospital.

According to the Burleson police, an employee at Wells Fargo Bank on the 400 block of East Renfro Street reported a person acting suspiciously. When they arrived, they were told the bank had been robbed.

At that moment, the suspected robber exited the bank and ran toward a nearby 7-Eleven. The officer chased the man and there was a short exchange of gunfire where two of the officers were hit.

The suspected bank robber was not hit in the exchange and was taken into custody inside the convenience store at Burleson Boulevard and East Renfro Street.
