Man Shot, Killed After Argument in Garland

Police say Ray Keech, 65, was fatally shot after an argument with his girlfriend's son turned violent.

The shooting occurred before 3 p.m. in the 5200 block of Welbeck Court in South Garland. [[297136111,L]]

Police said Joseph Robic, 31, had come to visit his mother at her home when he instead found Keech, who was described as her live-in boyfriend. An argument turned into a physical altercation before Robic shot keech with a pistol, according to police.

Police arrived at the home to find Keech dead at the scene.

Police said the Robic was taken into custody and is now facing a murder charge. Bond has not yet been set.

Police said Robic reported the shooting to police immediately after the shooting.

Both neighbors and police said violent crime is rare in that area of the city.
