Gary Green is charged with one count of Capital Murder with additional charges pending.
A husband accused of fatally stabbing his wife and stepdaughter and severely wounding his stepson turned himself in Tuesday, Dallas police said.
Officers found Lovetta Armstead, 32, and 6-year-old Jazzman Montgomery dead just before 9:30 p.m. Monday in Armstead's home in the 3800 block of Morning Spring Trail, police said.
Police said Armstead recently filed for divorce from Gary Green, her 38-year-old husband of less than a year.
Dallas police said a violent struggle ensued after Armstead dropped off her two sons, ages 9 and 12, at church and returned home with her daughter to find Green in the house.
Police said after Green stabbed Armstead and Jazzman, he went to the church to pick up the two boys and then returned to the house. Green told the 12-year-old to take a shower, then attacked the 9-year-old while the boy pleaded for his life, police said.
It is not clear why he stopped attacking the youngest boy before leaving the home, according to a police report.
The 12-year-old boy was not injured, police said. He and the 9-year-old boy were taken to Children's Medical Center.
Police said Green turned himself in at the Southeast Patrol Substation at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Green was taken to the Dallas County Jail, where he was being held on one count of capital murder, with additional charges pending. His bond was set at $1 million.
