Dallas police have arrested Cecilia Marie Ogle, 21, in the apparent run-over death of her mother after an argument in their home spilled out into the driveway.
Sgt. Eddie Douglas said the death early Friday is being treated as a homicide, but that it could be downgraded if evidence suggests the incident wasn't deliberate.
"The daughter could have been trying to leave and the mother could have been trying to stop her. We don't know that to be factual at this time. That's a strong possibility," said Douglas.
A neighbor called police after allegedly witnessing 60-year-old Sheila Ann Ogle being run over, possibly twice, with Cecilia Ogle behind the wheel. It happened in the 2200 block of Ballycastle Drive near White Rock Lake.
Police found Cecilia Ogle hiding inside the house and took her into custody. She is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail.
Police have not said why the women were fighting. It is not yet clear if alcohol may have played a role in the incident.
