Dallas police arrested a fellow officer on a charge of assault Sunday morning that investigators say involved a family member.
Dallas police officer Raymond Petty was arrested and charged for assault family violence. Petty had been with the department since May 2007, Dallas police spokesman Demarquis Black said in a statement.
Petty was assigned to the Central Patrol Division at the time of his arrest. He has since been placed on administrative leave pending an Internal Affairs investigation, Black said.
Petty was held in Dallas County Jail Sunday afternoon and no bond was immediately set.
