Strong Lungs, Grip Thwart Purse Snatcher
A North Texas woman said a would-be purse thief approached her after lunch in a busy shopping center Monday. The victim said the man stopped while she was leaving Chipotle along Central Expressway near Forest Lane. He asked for directions to a maid service and then reached for her purse when she tried to help. She said she screamed loudly and held on to her purse, which was wrapped around her wrist. Audacious Impostor Arrested Inside Sheriff's Office
A Lewisville man, Daniel Morley, was arrested Tuesday after police said he impersonated a federal agent while armed inside the Collin County Sheriff's office. Before being granted his interview or ride along, an alert was received from the Dallas Police Department warning agencies of a man impersonating a federal agent. Morley was detained and later admitted to authorities that he was impersonating a federal agent. Read more here.

Search Continues for Driver in Fatal Hit-And-Run
The Dallas County Sheriff's Department is asking for help in locating the driver who fled the scene of a fatality crash last Friday. The driver was in a 1992 red Chevrolet pickup truck that was missing its front grill or had pretty heavy frontend damage. The truck had Texas plates - 92C-FB5. If you see this vehicle you are asked to call the Vehicle Crimes Unit at 214-589-2315 or the Sheriff Department's dispatch number at 214-749-8641.

Body Found on Fort Worth Freeway
Police are investigating the death of man whose body was found on a Fort Worth freeway early Wednesday morning.  At about 1:15 a.m., officers found the man on the ramp from Interstate 35W to eastbound Interstate 30. It is not clear whether the man fell or jumped. The roadway was closed for several hours while officers conducted an investigation. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner is working to identify the man.

Car Crashes into Truck Transporting House
A car crashed into a house that was being moved overnight Tuesday.  Investigators said the driver lost control of her car along Garland Road and slammed into a slowly moving truck that was carrying the house.  Officers said they were dumbfounded as to how the woman didn't notice the truck, which had flashing lights and was escorted by police. The woman was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas with non-life threatening injuries.

Clerk Killed in Waxahachie Pawn Shop
Waxahachie police are searching for clues after a clerk was killed in at a pawn shop Tuesday afternoon.  Officers arrived at the Dallas Pawn and Jewelry Tuesday afternoon to find the clerk dead.  Investigators are looking over surveillance video to determine if the shooting was part of an attempted robbery.  The name of the victim has not yet been released.

5,000 Pound Plate Falls, Kills Worker
A 5,000-pound steel plate struck and killed a worker at Cam Tech Precision Manufacturing in Euless Tuesday night. Just after 9 p.m., 53-year-old Royce Lee Bunkley was cleaning the underside of the suspended plate when it fell, crushing him to death. OSHA was notified and a representative arrived to investigate the accident. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports OSHA cited the Euless company in 2007 for four workplace safety violations, including one classified as serious. The issues were resolved later that year.

Toddler Shoots Toddler
Police say a 2-year-old child accidentally shot another at a house in the small East Texas crossroads town of Timpson. Police Chief Hilton Poindexter said the shooting happened Monday night in a bedroom where one child found a .22-caliber handgun and was playing with it when it went off. The other 2-year-old was wounded in the upper right abdomen. Poindexter said the wounded child underwent surgery at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, 25 miles to the southwest, then was transferred to Louisiana State University Hospital in Shreveport, La. He says the child is in stable condition and expected to recover. No charges have been filed, but the investigation continues. Timpson has about 1,200 residents and is about 150 miles east of Dallas and 50 miles southwest of Shreveport.

Altercation Leads to Fatal Stabbing, Police Say
Bennie Anthony Woods Jr., 25, of Terrell Texas, has been charged with murder in the death of 49-year-old Ray Thomas.  Thomas and Woods were fighting in Forney Tuesday when Woods stabbed Thomas multiple times, police said.  Woods was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but those charges were upgraded after Thomas died from his injuries.  Woods is being held on $75,000 bond.

Teen Killed in Collision with Big-Rig
David Kelton, 19, was killed Tuesday morning when he collided with trailer of an 18-wheeler that had pulled onto North Carrier Parkway.  The collision sheared off the roof of Kelton's pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The big-rig driver, 40-year-old Harold Jackson, of Mansfield, was not injured in the collision.  The crash is under investigation.
